AMS Red Boys Basketball Splits With Spartans

7th Grade Write-Up by A.J. Green
The AMS 7th grade Red boys basketball team earned a big home AAC league win on Wednesday evening over Boardman by a score of 54-49.
The Falcons dominated the inside game as Solomon Underwood led all scorers with 23 points and well over 10 rebounds. Teammate, Tyrell Tate, also contributed a double-double finishing with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Trent Ferreri finished with 9 points and knocked down a much needed three-point shot which led to an offensive run late in the 3rd quarter.
Carmello Rowe added 4 points and 5 assists while D.J. Holmes, Jimmy Kagarise and Kalien Patterson all contributed 2 points in the win.
The team will be right back on the court on Thursday, January 22 with a home non-conference game against Girard starting at 5:30 PM.
8th Grade Write-up by Scott Lipinsky
After holding a 16-15 halftime lead, the AMS 8th grade Red boys basketball team was plagued by turnovers in third quarter that ultimately led to Boardman pulling away to win 50-34 on Wednesday evening.
Two Falcons scored in double digits led by Torry Easterly with 16 points with Micahel Stubbs adding 10 points. Solomon Underwood had 4 points, while Jayden Gardner and Jordan Wolfe both contributing 2 points each.
The team will host Girard on Thursday, January 22 and look to get back into the win column.
