After having their game on Monday against Warren Gold postponed for illness, and with several players still not 100%, the AMS 8th grade Blue boys basketball team grinded out a hard fought win against Warren Gold on Wednesday night at AMS. The Falcons started off the game with their relentless defense and a strong rebounding effort, to hold the Raiders scoreless after the first quarter and held a 5-0 lead.

The Raiders returned the favor with a strong 2nd quarter defensive effort in which the held the Falcons scoreless and took a 7-5 lead into halftime.

The 3rd quarter saw a jump in offensive production from both teams as they began connecting on shots beyond the three-point arc that were missing the mark in the 1st half.  The Falcons were able to regain the lead in the 3rd quarter by a score of 14-13, and set the stage for an exiting back and forth final quarter of play.

The Falcons were able to extend their lead to 3 points early in the 4th off of a deep three-point shot, but the Raiders came back and tied the game with an even deeper three-point shot of their own. A free throw by Adam Abuali, and bucket inside the paint by Jeffrey Newton extended the Falcon lead to 3 points again. They were able to get an insurance bucket by Tyler Revak late in the game to finish off a 23-18 victory.

|The win brings the Falcons record to 6-4, with a 4-2 record in the league. The Falcons will look to get healthy and continue their strong play on Saturday, January 17 at AMS against Massillon Orange
