AMS 8th Grade Football Unbeaten

The AMS 7th and 8th grade football teams hosted Steubenville on Wednesday evening at Greenwood Chevrolet Falcon Stadium. The Falcons split with the Big Red with the 8th grade 8th remaining unbeaten on the season with 34-0 shutout victory.

The 8th grade team dominated Steubenville by recording three takeaways on defense. Jorden Wolfe and Salvador Battles Jr. both recorded interceptions while Wolfe also recovered a fumble.

Battles Jr., Kolton Hoffman and Gabe Ruheim each had rushing touchdowns, while Ruheim connected with Jake Berni for a touchdown pass and added a two-point conversion pass to Ayden Sabel as well. Michael Stubbs threw a touchdown pass to Joseph Braham for the final touchdown of the evening, with Braham adding the two-point conversion on a run. The 8th grade team now stands at 7-0 on the season.

The 7th grade team was unable to overcome an early deficit falling to the Big Red by a score of 24-12. C.J. McRae broke off a long touchdown run for the Falcons and Anthony Cleveland threw a touchdown pass to McRae to account for the
offensive scoring. Defensively, the Falcons got a big night from Dante Pugh who recovered a fumble and intercepted a pass. The team's record falls to 2-5 on the season.

Both teams will play their season finale on Tuesday, October 14 as they hosted Chardon with action starting at 5:30 PM.
